Dwellers of the Frayed Thicket
Corbit, Marn, and Thistle live together in the Frayed Thicket, bound by need, fear, and longing.
Each followed Rowan believing they were helping to mend what had been broken,
even as the forest quietly warned them otherwise.
Corbit

Corbit is a magpie drawn to light and shine, though unsure of what that brightness truly means.
Once content among the other birds, he began to feel unseen and unnecessary.
Rowan’s promises of purpose gave his sharp eyes something to cling to,
even as the forest quietly warned him otherwise.
Marn

Marn is a timid fieldmouse who longs for safety and certainty.
Neat, careful, and quietly observant, he mistakes confidence for wisdom
and follows Rowan believing he is helping to mend what has broken.
His heart is gentle, even when his choices lead him astray.
Thistle

Thistle is a hedgehog shaped by loss and loyalty to place.
Prickly and guarded, she protects what little remains of her home,
still remembering the laughter that once drifted from the mill.
Rowan’s talk of restoration speaks to her grief more than her reason.
These are early sketches. Their stories are still unfolding.
